New title holder for Miss New Mexico to be crowned

PORTALES, N.M. (KRQE) – One year ago they became title holders, and now it’s time to pass on the crown.

Miss New Mexico, Marissa Livingston, and Miss New Mexico Outstanding Teen, Sasha Butcher, are ready to pass the torch to a new set of young ladies at the Miss New Mexico State Competition.

Livingston and Butcher joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss their past year and what’s to come for the next competition. Watch above.

The state competition is set to take place on Monday, June 13 through Saturday, June 18 at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM.

Thursday, June 16 and Friday, June 17 are preliminary competitions. Saturday, June 18 is the final night where the new title holders will be crowned.
