Miss World Fiji pageant 2017 will showcase its tourism potential

Miss World Fiji pageant 2017 will largely focus on promoting Fiji as a wonderful tourism destination. Andhy Blake, pageant director, said that this move was due to Miss World franchise was part of 130 other franchises globally. They are closely followed by various international media, big fashion houses and labels and famous bloggers. Blake believes that Fiji can occupy a nice position as one of the best tourism destinations in the world if the country is marketed properly through the pageant platform and seize the attention.
To quote Blake, ‘whenever our girls visit a tourist location, we post images up on our international Facebook page and this drives interest from around the world. In recent years, Miss World Fiji’s tourism excursions have gained interest in countries like Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Brazil, England and Korea. Whoever is crowned Miss World Fiji 2017 will also promote Fiji tourism at the international finals in China which begins in November.”
A preliminary show has been dedicated to Miss World Fiji on June 5 at the V-Max cinema at Damodar City Centre. It would be followed by the grand finals on June 10 at the Grand Pacific Hotel. This year’s contest is being sponsored by Digicel and tickets for this year’s event are sold at the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation who is the official license holders of Miss World Fiji.
