Katarina Rodriguez: 'I'm keeping Bb. Pilipinas crown'

MANILA -- Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017 Katarina Rodriguez is keeping her crown --and "sleeping" with it. 

Two days after being named one of the winners of the annual pageant, a text message sent to ABS-CBN News from Bb. Pilipinas Charities Incorporated spokesperson Gines Enriquez hinted that Rodriguez was planning to resign as the title-holder. 

Confusion ensued when Rodriguez contradicted Enriquez's text message in a post on Twitter, saying she never mentioned anything about not accepting the crown and asked the public to stop making assumptions.

On Wednesday, Rodriguez set the record straight as she attended a pictorial with her fellow winners. "I'm keeping the crown and sleeping with it," she told ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual. 

Rodriguez will be representing the country in the next edition of the Miss Intercontinental pageant. She succeeds Jennifer Hammond, who finished outside the top five last year.
