A BUDDING beauty queen from Alcester has made it to the finals of the regional heats of the Miss England competition.
Kim Tyrell, from Alcester, will compete in the final of the Miss Birmingham contest next weekend (Sunday, May 21) in a bid to represent the Midlands in the national Miss World pageant.
Sponsored by Reddiwraps, a car detailing company based in Redditch, it is the second time 26-year-old Kim has entered a beauty pageant – and it will also be her last as the age-limit is 26.
She said: “I’m very excited and honored to be a part of Miss Birmingham and to raise money for such a wonderful charity. This year is my last year of entering the pageant and it means so much to be given the opportunity to take part.
“All the girls in the final have worked hard to earn their place, we not only get to raise money for charity but also get to form friendships with some amazing people.”
She added: “I would encourage young girls to take part as its such a fun and exciting experience which helps people feel more confident in themselves and to strive for what they want, whilst helping others and raising money for charity.”
Kim has also been working to raise money for charity, as for part of the Miss Birmingham competition the contestants must raise money and awareness for ‘Beauty With A Purpose’, the official Miss England charity formed by Julia Morley in 1972 to raise money for disadvantaged children all over the world.
