John Podesta Whined About ‘Confederate’ Miss America

The chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign got upset because the Miss America pageant had so many finalists from former Confederate states, newly-released emails show.
“Do you think it’s weird that of the 15 finalists in Miss America, 10 came from the 11 states of the CSA?” Podesta asked Neera Tanden from the Center for American Progress in a 2015 email. The email is one of several thousand leaked Monday by the online hacktivist group WikiLeaks.
Tanden responded by slamming Miss America’s audience as a bunch of neo-Confederates.
“I would imagine the only people who watch it are from the confederacy and by now they know that so they’ve rigged the thing in their honor,” Tanden said.
