Zara Holland ‘went ballistic’ at Miss Great Britain chief following fiery exchange with new Miss GB on Loose Women
Moments after Zara Holland came face to face with the woman who took her Miss Great Britain Crown she allegedly went ‘ballistic’ at a Miss GB chief.
Zara was fresh from a heated exchange with Deone Robertson, who was awarded the title after the Love Island contestant was stripped of it following her TV romp with fellow islander Alex Bowen, when the incident reportedly occurred in the Loose Women green room.
An insider claimed to The Sun: ‘Deone approached Zara to say she hoped there were no hard feelings, and that she wished her all the best.
‘Zara replied that she had no issues with her, but the way it was all handled, and that the Miss Great Britain organisation should have let her know.’
It was at this point the National Director allegedly became involved to explain that because she was on the ITV show she was not contactable.
‘Zara then became extremely aggressive, and had to be held back by her management before being escorted out of the room,’ the source continued.
‘They had to physically remove her from the green room, she was going ballistic.’
However, a show insider has told Metro.co.uk that Zara was not ‘removed’ but in fact left by herself.
‘Zara wasn’t physically removed, she left with her management following the altercation,’ they said.
Zara also denied she had to be taken from the green room: ‘I was not aggressive or escorted of the premises from ITV (sic).
‘”According to a source for the sun” Never heard such lies in all my life! Ask anyone at ITV! Anyway, moving onwards, thank you for all your amazing comments and support.’
Just prior to this, Deone and Zara had come face to face for the first time since Zara had been stripped of the title. Deone was awarded the crown in her stead as she had been the original runner up.
‘Deone didn’t win on the night, she doesn’t deserve it,’ Zara said as she went on to admonish her replacement for taking the title instead of refusing as a show of solidarity. The 20-year-old also admitted she was refusing to return the crown.
When she argued that the bosses at Miss GB had OK’d her stay on the Love Island, Loose Women’s Sherie Hewson said: ‘But I’m sure they didn’t expect you to do what you did.’
Zara hit back: ‘Neither did I. But there was alcohol and it was in the moment. I made a mistake. I am living with the consequences right now.’
Sherie pointed out: ‘You are supposed to be a role model. It’s not an excuse.’
June Sarpong agreed with Sherie: ‘You did sign the terms and conditions though. You can’t bring the organisation into disrepute. It has a heritage and is prestigious.
‘If you do behave like that, you have to expect the consequences.’
Zara attempted to argue it’s a ‘modern day beauty pageant’ but June quickly put her in her place.
‘There’s nothing modern about having sex on TV,’ she said.
After the show Zara tweeted:
Reps for Zara Holland have been contacted by Metro.co.uk for comment.
