You, yes you, can help pick one of the Top 15 contenders for the Miss America competition happening in Atlantic City in September.
The "America's Choice" portion of the pageant is open, prompting those interested to cast a vote for a specific state titleholder. Voting closes just before midnight on Sept. 5.
America's pick through this voting process will be announced during the competition's finale on Sept. 11 in Atlantic City in Boardwalk Hall. The other competitors in the Top 15 will be decided by the preliminary judges. It could turn out that the America's Choice contestant could also have already been picked as part of the Top 15 by those judges, the Miss America Organization said in a press release Wednesday.
In order to cast a ballot, people can visitmissamerica.org/vote or the Miss America Organization's Facebook page, and click the Miss America 2017 tab on the left-hand side of the page. Voters can select the titleholder of their choice and vote once a day through Sept. 5.
The live broadcast of the Miss America finale will take place on Sept. 11, when a new Miss America will be crowned. The current titleholder, Betty Cantrell, will bestow the crown on one of this year's 52 contestants in Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
