‘ISIS’ in Philippines Threatens Miss Universe Pageant With Bombing

Site Intel reports that a Filipino terrorist channel shared a video showing how to make a suicide bomb belt and suggested that jihadis attack Miss Universe 2016 in the Philippines.
The location of the event has not yet been selected, but the coronation is set to be held on January 30, 2017 with Pia Wurtzbach announcing her successor.
Islam is the Philippines’ second largest religion after Catholicism. It is mainly practiced in the southernmost island of the three island nation, called Mindanao. Mindanao is an autonomous region of the Philippines, mainly due to religious tension with the other majority Catholic islands. Some extremists there are attempting to overthrow the government.
Mindanao had already included the unofficial affiliate of the Islamic State called “Abu Sayyaf.”According to The International Business Times, senior Abu Sayyaf leader Isnilon Hapilon and other masked men pledged their allegiance to ISIS in a summer of 2014 video.
In June, ISIS formally accepted the Abu Sayyaf as part of their “caliphate” in a video. Watch that video here.
