I NEVER STOLE THE CROWN!Reigning Miss GB Deone Robertson reveals all about THAT explosive Zara Holland Loose Women interview
Beauty queen set the record straight after coming face to face with the shamed Love Island star
THE new Miss Great Britain Deone Robertson has revealed exactly what happenedwhen she came face to face with Zara Holland on today’s Loose Women.
Opening up exclusively to The Sun Online during a Facebook live, the 28-year-old admitted she was incredibly nervous about meeting Zara for the first time she took her crown and was shocked that things turned so fiery so quickly.
Speaking from The Sun’s offices she revealed how the meeting came about, saying: “I think basically Zara was going on Loose Women anyway and obviously with regards to the Miss GB organisation and what happened, they’ve not really had their say about it so the idea was that if we both went on it we could both have our say on it.
“And no one can really interfere or come in between that. She would have her points and I would have mine and it would all be lovely.
“But it was a little more fiery, should we say, then I anticipated.”
During the interview Zara – who was stripped of her title after bedding Alex Bowen on Love Island – dominated most of the conversation.
However Deone was completely understanding, saying: “She has a lot of things she wants to say as well. I managed to get some of my points across.
“It’s difficult because we are coming from two different stances and I get why she would be upset.”
Standing up for herself, the Scottish beauty told us: “At the end of the day I’m not the one that’s done anything wrong and I think this is what people are failing to see.
“I never stole the crown, she made the decision, she made the choice.”
Reiterating that it is part of her duty as first runner up to take the crown if for some reason the winner can’t, she asked: “Why wouldn’t I take that opportunity. Any girl would be lying if they said they wouldn’t take that opportunity.”
Zara had been adamant during the Loose Women interview that she would not have taken it if she was in that position.
Speaking about what it was like seeing Zara for the first time since the Miss GB finals last September, Deone told us she was incredibly nervous.
“I was really ,really nervous,” she admitted.
“I was so nervous. Just to be sat beside each other and not know what is going to happen. She is strong girl and she can stand up for herself.”
Deone went on to discuss Zara’s lack of charity work since she got a title.
“This is where we failed to see eye to eye. She says she did but we have just seen her on red carpet. You need to keep up your duty which means doing charity stuff,” she told us.
Offering advice for any future candidates, she warned: “Don’t do reality TV”.
