PH aims to host the best Miss Universe pageant ever

Yup it's really happening: the Philippines will really host the 65th Miss Universe pageant on Jan 2017.
The Department of Tourism, representatives of the Miss Universe Organization, and pageant sponsors signed a partnership contract finalizing their commitment to host the Miss Universe pageant.

Present during the contract signing and partners launch was Shawn McClain, vice president of business development and marketing of Miss Universe. This is the first time anyone from the MUO has officially confirmed that the pageant will indeed be held in the country next year.
"We're gonna be visiting lots of different places, and we're going to be showing the world what the Philippines has to offer," McClain said. "And we're gonna be helping boost tourism, and putting positive focus on everything that the Philippines is and stands for and will be in the future."
As previously reportedly, McClain said the private sector will finance the pageant. The biggest investor in the staging of the Miss Universe pageant is the LCS Group of former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis "Chavit" Singson.
"Without a doubt, we're the best location in Asia to host the Miss Universe pageant," said Richelle Singson-Michael, the host committee chairman of the 65th Miss Universe pageant.
She added, "I always say that not only does the Philippines have the biggest Miss Universe fan base in the world, I also believe there is no other country but the Philippines that can guarantee that this will be the best Miss Universe pageant the world will see."
No other details about the 65th Miss Universe pageant were given during the event, apart from what was already reported.

The coronation night will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on Jan 30, 2017, although the pageant contestants will arrive in the country for pre-pageant activites weeks before the said date.
The pre-pageant activities will be held in various locations around the country, such as Vigan, Cebu, Baguio, and Davao, among others.
The pageant is expected to air in over 190 terrorities worldwide, said McClain.
