The REAL Miss Lebanon! Najah Ghamrawi wins beauty pageant just weeks after Mary Mehajer was accused of cheating in a separate competition

  • Najah Ghamrawi, 18, has won Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia 2016
  • She will represent Australia in the international round of the contest
  • 'I take full pride in being Australian with Lebanese background' she said
  • Mary Mehajer won the Miss Lebanon Australia pageant in May
  • Her brother Salim Mehajer was accused of swaying the votes in her favour
An aspiring teacher has won Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia 2016 just weeks after Mary Mehajer, the younger sister of controversial Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer, had her contentious win shaded by allegations of cheating in a similar pageant.
Najah Ghamrawi, 18, won over eight other young women in the beauty pageant at Doltone House in Sydney on Sunday night.
The next step for Ms Ghamrawi is to represent Australia in the international round of the contest to be held in Lebanon this August, which has been approved by the Lebanese ministry of culture and tourism.

Ms Ghamrawi told Daily Mail Australia: ‘As I embark on another journey to represent Australia in Lebanon I take a little piece of home with me.'
'Knowing that I take full pride in being Australian with Lebanese background is something that will mirror me long after this journey has ended,' she added.
The Lebanese-Australian beauty hopes to become a secondary teacher providing education in third world countries, according to her biography on the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia Facebook

Organisers of the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia have stressed that the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Pageant is completely different to the one Miss Mehajer won.
In a statement on their Facebook they said: 'The World Lebanese Cultural Union is the only organisation to host the Miss Lebanon Emigrants pageants internationally and send a delegate to represent their respective countries to the Miss Emigrants final Lebanon.'
In May this year Mary Mehajer, the youngest sister of Salim Mehajer, won the title of Miss Lebanon Australia but has been marred by accused her brother swayed the votes in her favour.
Miss Mehajer told The Daily Telegraph: 'I would love for [NSW Fair Trading] to investigate and see that I won fairly.'
The results of the investigation are still pending under the NSW Office of Fair Trading.
