Miss Botswana 2016 count down begins

Following months of preparations, which included auditions and subsequently a boot-camp for the Top 30 contestants, excitement for the Miss Botswana pageant has reached fever pitch.
This follows the announcement of this year’s top 12 contestants who will take to the stage on Friday the 29th July to compete for the most coveted crown in the land.
Under the watchful eye of a select panel of judges drawn from the Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture, Botswana Council of Women and representation from the private sector, the contestants are set to give a performance of their lives to win the hearts of the judges and indeed the public.
Points carried from the bootcamp which include; Public Speaking, Sports and fitness, Talent, Beauty with a purpose (Project) will be carried forward to contribute to the judges final decision.
On the night of the finale, the judges will award points for poise (demeanor), swim wear, evening gown, interview and in addition the public vote will ultimately contribute to the crowning of the Queen and first and second princess.
The finale promises to be a spectacular affair as the organizers have pulled all stops to ensure the experience will be forever etched in the minds of Batswana.
Botswana Council of Women will confer the Miss Botswana title to its 50th queen this year.
This milestone coincides with the country’s 50th golden jubilee, a poignant moment in the country’s history.
Under the theme; ‘Our Diamond Our Pride’, Miss Botswana 2016 promises to not only thrill but to also be a true reflection of the journey travelled and the bright future the country looks ahead to.
Tickets are now available for the grand finale and the public is encouraged to take advantage of the three tier ticket offering with options to purchase either platinum P1500, Gold- P750 and Silver P300 tickets.

Miss Botswana 2016 will be crowned in a glitzy affair on Friday 29th July at the Gaborone International Convention Centre.
