Mystery
altercation: MLS midfielder Marco Pappa, 28 (left), and Miss Washington
Stormy Keffeler, 23 (right), were reportedly involved in an accident in
December in which the soccer player ended up being stabbed. Neither
could tell the police what happened
'The
case has been declined as legally insufficient' because neither Pappa
nor Keffeler could tell the authorities exactly what had happened.
Pappa
gave investigators several explanations about the incident including
that he was having dinner, felt a little pain, then realized he was
stabbed.
He
also told investigators that after leaving a restaurant with Keffeler,
he gave money to a homeless man on the street and noticed he was
stabbed, according to The Denver Post.
Pappa said Keffeler never stabbed him and also said he was drunk and couldn't remember what happened.
In
bizarre 911 audio, Keffeler - who gave up her crown in February after
it emerged she did not disclose a previous drunken driving arrest - can
be heard telling operators: 'I had an accident at my boyfriend's
apartment.'
Photos, obtained by TMZ,
show a kitchen knife covered in blood that had been put back in the
knife block, as well as a trail of blood from the kitchen to the

New squeeze: Stormy and her 'new
future husband' pose for a photograph. She will not be charged in the
stabbing of Marco Pappa. Her caption along with this image reads: 'Dear
followers, please don't vote for trump because then my Muslim future
husband will be deported. Thanks!'
There were also two clear stab marks in the wall, surrounded by spatters of blood.
When pressed, Stormy later says she has no idea how Marco was stabbed.
At one point, an emergency responder can be heard saying: 'This sounds suspicious to me.'
Keffeler continues to refuse to answer questions about what happened to Pappa, saying she does not know.
At
one point she says that the attacker is no longer in the apartment, but
then says she doesn't know if Pappa was actually attacked.
According to the station KING5,
police were called to the apartment in the South Lake Union section of
the city, where they discovered Pappa bleeding from a stab wound to his
abdomen.
Keffeler was also at the apartment at the time.
Keffeler said of her downfall: 'It's hard when a dream that you've had comes crashing down'
Dethroned: The
now former Miss Washington USA Stormy Keffeler broke her silence in a
Good Morning America interview (pictured), saying she was a 'changed
person'
Pappa, a Guatemala-born midfielder, was taken to an area hospital, where he underwent surgery.
When interviewed by police, Keffeler and Pappa reportedly offered several different explanations about what happened.
No arrests have been made in the case as police continued to investigate the circumstances of the altercation.
The
report about the mystery stabbing came after it emerged that Keffeler
concealed a DUI arrest from the pageant organizers at Miss Washington.
The
striking brunette, who is a former professional football player in the
Seattle Mist women's team, was crowned Miss Washington USA in October,
six months after she was pulled over in Seattle on suspicion of driving

entering the beauty contest
Tipped off: Officials with Miss
Washington USA say they only found out about Keffeler's run-in with the
law last week after getting an anonymous report
In
September, a month before the Miss Washington pageant, Keffeler pleaded
guilty to the DUI charge. She served two days in jail in December as
part of her plea deal.
According
to the rules of the beauty pageant, contestants promise they have not
or will not engage in illegal activity, 'any felony conviction,
probation or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude'.
Maureen
Francisco, co-director of Miss Washington USA Pageant, said she found
out about Keffeler's run-in with the law only in the last few days after
getting an anonymous tip via email.
'There was nothing disclosed on her paperwork,' the pageant official told KIRO-TV.
Athlete: Keffeler had played center for the Seattle Mist (pictured), which is an all-female football team

The 23-year-old native of Monroe, Washington, noted that she has learned her lesson.
'I
am a changed person, and I am willing to go out and prove it,' she said
before adding through tears, 'I'm still hopeful that I still have the
opportunity to change the world.'
According the the beauty's Instagram account, she is engaged to a mystery man.
Coincidentally,
Marco Pappa was also involved in a separate DUI last year. Following
his arrest in July, the MLS player entered the league's substance abuse
program, according to Sports Illustrated.
The
28-year-old footballer has played seven seasons in MLS, racking up 35
goals and 27 assists during his five-year tenure in Chicago and two-year
stint in Seattle. On December 15, he was traded by the Sounders to the
Colorado Rapids.
