The red carpet was
rolled out for Miss America Betty Cantrell at Scruples, which is a
women’s clothing boutique that welcomed Miss America on Tuesday,
February 9. Miss America made her appearance at the boutique to support
the Joseph Ribkoff Trunk Show.
The Scruples Trunk
Show was held Tuesday, February 9 and Wednesday February 10. A trunk
show is an event that allows customers to select items from a designer’s
entire collection. Trunk shows are unique because the customer has
access to clothing that is not always available in stores.
“Joseph Ribkoff is my clothing sponsor for the
entire year as Miss America, and he has been the clothing sponsor for
Miss America for the past few years. We are excited to support them,”
said Cantrell. “They always give me a great amount of clothes, are
really fashionable, and are really easy to pack since I am on the road
for 340 days out of the year, which is about 20, 000 miles a month.”
The Jospeh Ribkoff brand is the official clothing wear for Miss America’s daytime events. Joseph Ribkoff’s brand is the boutique’s number one clothing line and is an international women’s manufacturer.
“It’s exciting to have Miss America at the boutique because she only made one stop in Houston,” said Betty Griffin, Scruples owner. ““People need to know that celebrities are for all of us, especially Miss America. She belongs to all of us.”
Cantrell enjoys supporting the official brand for Miss America and having her clothes portray her character.
“I really like to show my personality in my clothes,” said Cantrell. “I like my style to be chic and sophisticated, but with a little hint of edgy.”
