ALTHOUGH Louisa Josephs Chingangu is refusing to comment on anything as yet, the dethroned Miss Zambia 2016 winner is receiving a lot of sympathy from some pageant followers who have been taking to social media to express their sentiments on the
19-year-old model’s fortune-cum-misfortune.
Miss Zambia organisation owner Elizabeth Mwanza last week suspended Louisa for seemingly supporting an online publication which alleged that she has not been given her all her prizes for winning the title, apart from a motor vehicle by Platinum Events Africa Productions.
“Let me register my disappointment and dissatisfaction at the Miss Zambia organisation and particularly Ms Elizabeth Mwanza, who for a long time I have held in high regard because of her integrity,” Chali Laswel wrote on a Facebook page Model Faces of Zambia.
“Dethroning of Miss Zambia 2016, Louisa Josephs Chingangu was not done in good faith. Yes she won a car that she still can’t use at her discretion? The other prizes were still not fully honoured and then you start advertising for the 2017 competition. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist for anybody to start asking questions.”
Another Facebook user, Namwezi Namwinga said the issue of stripping Louisa of the Miss Zambia title is alarming and justice should take its course over the matter.
“Not only Louisa our queen, but the rest of the models are affected. To start with, I call for unity amongst all models, whoever thinks fit to audition for Miss Zambia 17 is this how you want to be treated as a beauty queen?” she asked.
Model Domiah Lihonde simply said: “This is just wrong. Why dethrone without facts. This is just too fishy and unprofessional.”
The Miss Zambia pageant organisers released an official statement on May 9 in which they also claimed that Louisa had a non-committal attitude and lack of interest as the holder of the Miss Zambia 2016 crown.
Louisa however, refused to comment over the matter, saying the issue is still under investigations.
“We cannot reveal any information at the moment. You people will have to wait until we release an official statement,” she said.
The statement also highlighted that the Miss Zambia title will remain vacant seeing there are only three months to Miss Zambia 2017.
