The outgoing Miss Heilala 2015 Brittne Fuimaono, perched on the open roof of a vehicle, led a colourful Miss Heilala Parade on Saturday July 9, following the crowning of the new Miss Heilala earlier on Saturday.
The reigning Miss Heilala 2016 Laura Lauti walked behind with her uncle along Vuna Road ahead of their float, as it passed the Saturday morning market, where hundreds of people lined the road.
Complete with brass bands, loud music and lolly scrambles, the floats parade for the nine contestants in this year's pageant left the Teufaiva Stadium and went through the central business district of Nuku'alofa and the seafront Vuna Road. It ended at Ma'ufanga, where the two Miss Heilala joined each other to ride in a convertible for final waves and photos, bringing the week-long event to its conclusion.
