Radiant contestants make first appearance for Miss Heilala Pageant

Miss Heilala 2015-16 with nine of the 11 contestants for this month’s Pageant. 1 July 2016.
Nine of 11 entrants for the Miss Heilala Pageant 2016 attended an orientation program at Liku’alofa Beach Resort on Tongatapu today, Friday 1 July. The girls looked radiant dressed in their best during their first public appearance. They are:
- Miss Appraxus New Zealand, 'Ana Falala
- Miss Bou’s Fashion, Vika Toetu’u
- Miss Tourism Tonga, Michelle Motuliki
- Miss Havelu Rugby, Polonia Hoko
- Miss Loumaile, Laura Lauti
- Miss Lady Maria Tonga Australia, Soana Faiva
- Miss Tongatapu 2, Sosefina Fatai Leger
- Miss Five Star Finances, ‘Ofa Hui
- Miss Tonga National Rugby League, Salome Va'enuku
Two other contestants Miss Temokalati Elina Taufa and Miss Tonga China Association Salote Takiama Veikune are expected to join the girls later in the program.

Judging events
A pre-pageant interview will first be held on Monday morning 4 July at Davina House.
The pageant’s main judging events will be held from July 5-8, at Queen Salote Memorial Hall, beginning with a Tau’olunga competition on Tuesday evening, 5 July.
A South Pacific evening consisting of talent, sarong and island creation categories will be held on Thursday, 7 July.
The new Miss Heilala 2016 will be crowned during a pageant ball on Friday, 8 July while a float parade concludes the event on Saturday, 9 July.
The current Miss Heilala Brittne Fuimaono joined the contestants today at Liku'alofa.
The Heilala Festival this year is held under a theme, ‘Beautiful Tonga’ began on 27 June. Events coincide with the King’s birthday on Monday 4 July - a national public holiday in Tonga.
