Miss Miami Beach named Miss Florida USA
Miss Miami Beach beat out 66 other women to be crowned Miss Florida USA Saturday night during a pageant at Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale.
Genesis Dávila will now compete for the title of Miss USA, and the winner of that tiara will go on to vie for the ultimate prize of Miss Universe.
Orlando-area contestants included Miss Orlando Evelyn J. Linden, 22, of Orlando, Miss Winter Park USA Annie McFarland, 20, of Winter Springs, Miss Central Florida USA Christina Nicholson, 24, of Winter Park, Miss Seminole County Juliana Bonarrigo, 18, of Ormond Beach, Miss Melbourne USA Ashley Daniello, 23, of Orlando, and Miss Ft. Miss Lauderdale Beach Maggie Ta, 23, of Orlando.
This is the second big pageant in the state this month. Courtney Sexton of Orlando, won the title of Miss Florida and will be headed in September to the Miss America 2016 pageant in Atlantic City.
