Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia
WILL the real Miss Lebanon please stand up?
These three beauties — Najah Ghamrawi, Natalie Mansour and Rhonda Elbazi — will tomorrow compete for the REAL title of Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia, putting an end to the faux reign of Mary Mehajer, the sister of controversial developer Salim Mehajer.
The youngest Mehajer hit the headlines for the wrong reasons after a cobbled-together comp, which was run without the backing of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, came under investigation by Fair Trading NSW following allegations of bribery and back-door shenanigans.
The findings of the inquiry are yet to be made public.
The beautiful trio will join five other glamorous contestants strutting their stuff at Doltone House for their chance to compete in the Miss Lebanon Emigrant international competition, held in Dhour Shweir, Lebanon, against other beauties from around the globe.
It’s something winners of the Joe Khoury-run Miss Lebanon Australia pageant are not eligible to do.
“Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia is about embracing our cultural history and traditions and to share it among many other beautiful cultures we are blessed to have in Australia,” Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia pageant organiser Hiam Yazbeck said.
“I have had the privilege to see them all grow and flourish into confident, well-spoken young ladies who all possess different beautiful qualities.
“With hours away to crowning our new queen, I can proudly say all my girls will indeed highly represent themselves, the WLCU, and the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia beauty pageant.”
