Miss Mississippi 2016 contestants arrive in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. – Forty-four women have arrived in Vicksburg to compete for the title of Miss Mississippi 2016.
News outlets report that this week's Miss Mississippi Pageant is the city's largest annual event in terms of economic impact. The new Miss Mississippi will be crowned Saturday night.
The pageant has been held at the Vicksburg Convention Center for the past 19 years.
Vicksburg Convention Center Executive Director Annette Kirklin tells the Vicksburg Post that the pageant brings in about $2 million each year.
Miss Mississippi 2015, Hannah Roberts, was first runner at Miss America 2016 in September.
