Pia Wurtzbach Inspires The Contestants to Join Binibining Pilipinas Again

Whenever one thinks about Miss Universe 2015, Pia Wurtzbach the story of uphill struggle, perseverance and dedication hovers over the eyes. After three unwavering attempts, Pia Wurtzbach not only won Binibining Pilipinas 2015 but also brought Philippines’s third Miss Universe crown home. Her devotion has inspired many young Filipino ladies to patiently strive for their ambitions.

This year in Binibining Pilipinas 2016 edition, out of the 40 contestants, eight have joined previous editions of Binibining Pilipinas. It is not the first time when Miss Universe Philippines pageant is seeing the repeaters.

In fact, prior to Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach a number of recent Miss Universe Philippines titleholders were also Bb. Pilipinas repeaters, namely Mary Jean Lastimosa, who competed in 2011, 2012, 2014 and became the Top 10 finalist at Miss Universe 2014, held in Miami. Janine Tugonon, who competed in 2011 and 2012, and eventually became the first runner up in Miss Universe 2012, held in Las Vegas was also a repeater.

In the present batch, Kylie Verzosa, who is also a heavy favorite of many pageant fanatics, made it to the top 15 of last year’s Bb. Pilipinas pageant. Analogously, Nichole Manalo, who landed in the top 15 in 2014, and is the sister of Miss Universe Philippines 2010 and a prominent Filipino actress, Bianca Manalo is trying her luck yet again.

On the other hand, Leonalyn dela Cruz was seen in 2014 and Mariella Castillo was a Top 10 finalist in 2010. Jeslyn Santos also competed in Miss Universe Philippines in 2014 but went unplaced, while Paula Rich Bartolome went unplaced in 2015. Angelique Celine de Leon, who was seen in 2014 is back with a bang this time. Sissel Ria Rabajante, who competed with the reigning Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach in Bb. Pilipinas 2015 is trying her fortune again.

The grand finale of Bb. Pilipinas 2016 pageant will be held on April 17, 2016 wherein Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach will crown her successor as Philippines’s next representative to Miss Universe 2016. Do you think another Bb. Pilipinas repeater will wear the sash of Philippines in Miss Universe 2016?
