Throngs of adoring Filipinos welcomed the reigning Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach, during her much-anticipated homecoming parade on January 25, where she stood on a float designed to look like the Czech-made diamond crown she was crowned with.

As the 64th Miss Universe title-holder, she proudly wore her majestic diamond crown estimated to be worth USD 300,000, produced by renowned
Czech company DIC— Diamonds International Corporation. The crown is adorned with 311 pieces of diamonds, 5 pieces of blue topaz, 198 pieces of blue sapphire, 33 pieces of crystal, and gold.

According to DIC, the production process of the 2015 Miss Universe diamond crown, designed to emulate the Manhattan skyline, was handled by 10 experts and took approximately four months; It combined the traditional techniques of Czech glassmakers and the best jewelers, cutters, and polishers from the Czech Republic.

DIC’s partnership with the Miss Universe Organization started in 2014 with an exclusive 10-year contract to produce crowns for Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA.
